Which grain size for which application?
Model making & landscape modelling
For model making and landscape modelling, the most important consideration is the structure and scale you want to create.
Our 2–4 mm natural cork granules have a clearly visible structure and can be used as scatter or design material, for example.

Terrariums & decoration
For terrariums, planters and decorative applications, our 2–4 mm granules can be used as bedding or design material.
The natural, irregular structure of the cork remains visible.
Gardens & planters
Cork granules can be used, for example, to loosen heavy soils or as a lightweight structural and decorative material.
The appropriate mixture, however, depends on the type of plant, location and overall substrate composition.
Filling & loose-fill applications
For filling and loose-fill applications, the volume, size of the cavity and desired function are particularly important in addition to the grain size.
For larger projects, the required volume should therefore be calculated first.

Insulation
For insulation projects, specifying the grain size alone is not sufficient.
Factors such as bulk density, fill depth, building component structure, desired thermal or acoustic function and technical requirements must also be considered.
Our stocked 2–4 mm granules should therefore not automatically be regarded as the ideal grain size for every insulation project.
Other grain sizes and larger quantities can be requested for larger insulation projects.
